Policy Statuses
Section | Term | Definition |
New Policies | New (Total) | All new policies, whether for brand-new accounts or existing accounts adding more coverage. |
New Policies | New (New) | A policy for a completely new account. |
New Policies | New (Cross Sell) | A policy for an existing account that adds a different type of coverage. |
Renewed Policies | Renewal (Total) | All renewed policies, even if they switch to a different carrier. |
Renewed Policies | Renewal (Renewal) | Policies renewed with the same carrier. |
Renewed Policies | Renewal (Rewrite) | Policies renewed but with a different carrier. |
Lost Policies | Lost (Total) | All policies lost, cancelled, or marked as non-renewable. |
Lost Policies | Lost (Lost) | Policies that expired and were not renewed within seven days. |
Lost Policies | Lost (Canceled) | Policies canceled before their expiration date. |
Lost Policies | Lost (Non-renewable) | Expired policies that can’t be renewed. |
Account Statuses
Term | Definition |
New | Accounts with new policies issued during the current period and didn’t exist before. |
Retained | Accounts with active policies during the current period that also had policies in previous periods. |
Lost | Accounts that had active policies in any previous period but currently don’t have any active policies. Their last policy expired and wasn’t renewed. |
